Lead is the dominant material used in the
X-Ray and Radiation shielding applications.
Many time the fabrication of sheet lead will
supply the necessary shielding for large applications.
For applications where sheet lead is inappropriate
Sullivan Metals offers custom cast lead products. Our
castings are used in the manufacture of Instruments and Systems
for Medical, Industrial and Nuclear X-Ray and Radiation Shielding
Applications. We can also fabricate precision x-ray and
radiation shielding for instrumentation by machining your
parts to specification.
We have built instrument radiation shielding
as small as 1/4 inch to assemblies of several feet across.
We have been involved in the fabrication of complete rooms.
Sullivan Metals is able to supply simple
to complex cast, machined or fabricated radiation shielding
and assemblies to customer specification. This allows for
greater flexibility in the design and manufacture of these
systems for our customers. In many cases we work in partnership
with our customers to develop appropriate designs and the
associated tooling necessary to make one-of-a-kind cast shielding
products. We then can supply these castings in a JIT environment
to meet customers manufacturing schedules.
Lead Brick - often used in radiation shielding or for ballast can be supplied in custom size and shapes, cast for your application.
Sullivan Metals has worked on systems for DOE and Homeland Security as well as shielding products for major medical equipment manufacturers. If your project requires precision lead components call us. Our equipment and staff can work in tolerances to
